Dining For Women

This month's featured program is Muditar which helps poor, underserved, Pa-O tribal villages in Myanmar, become self-sufficient, thriving communities using a collaborative model for sustainable development. Ongoing Collections

The Community Service Committee has organized two collection drives.

Plastic Jar Lids: Please bring clean, plastic jar lids ranging from 3 to 6 inches diameter from common household items such as peanut butter, mayonnaise, Nutella, etc.  The lids will be used to modify the switches on battery-operated toys for use by children with disabilities. The Northeastern Woodworkers Association makes the bases and the GE Toy Modification Volunteers group does the wiring. Donations are required on an ongoing basis and may left in the basket in the clubhouse foyer at any time.

Swim Suits for Kids: Swim suits for boys and girls ages 4-14 (girls suits are needed most) to be donated to Grassroot Givers who will then distribute them to several local organizations - the Arbor Hill Community pool program, a children's camp and to local homeless shelters housing children. New and gently used items are needed through August.

For more information on these projects contact the chair of Community Service Committee Joann Crupi at
